HI, I'M RITA, THE FOUNDER OF BLISSFUL SEEDS
Embarking on the entrepreneurial journey of owning a business and hustling to make ends meet from handmade creations is a true test of character. It demands unwavering patience, unwavering commitment, deep knowledge, and the ability to navigate various domains and systems to achieve success. As a small business loan officer in Lebanon, I have witnessed firsthand the harsh realities that small business owners face in a world dominated by larger corporations. Each small business I worked with shared a unique story that shed light on the intricate layers of entrepreneurship.
As a mother of an autistic son, I have a personal understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities when it comes to venturing into the world of entrepreneurship. The push for micro-business opportunities for individuals like my son as they transition into adulthood raises questions about how they can manage the diverse roles of an artistic creator, social media/marketing director, salesperson, and financial decision-maker while still grappling with basic human rights of inclusion and awareness.
At Blissful Seeds, we firmly believe that a disability does not equate to a lack of ability. It is not a barrier to success or a sentence to a life of challenges and failures. Instead, it should be a source of hope and determination.
